Waterloo Records Hosts Our August 2026 Pearl Society Concert

On Tuesday, August 11, our HAAM Pearl Society members and special guests from Ascension Seton enjoyed a wonderful night of music featuring Farmer’s Wife and Gina Chavez at Waterloo Records. Check out a photo gallery from the evening on our Facebook page, featuring photography by Jake Rabin.

Thank you to founding HAAM Board Member and legend of Waterloo Records, John T. Kunz, and to Caren Kelleher of Gold Rush Vinyl and Trey Watson of Armadillo Records for hosting our third Pearl Society of the year. 5% of proceeds from last night’s Waterloo sales benefit HAAM!

Celebrating Our Partners in Care: Ascension Seton

HAAM member Vanessa Lively

Throughout the evening, HAAM celebrated our long-standing and foundational partnership with Ascension Seton, as well as a new Women’s Healthcare Initiative to provide free mammogram screenings for uninsured women musicians. These “HAAMograms” are provided at no cost to eligible HAAM members thanks to the generous support of the Ascension Seton Foundation and its donors.

George Gomez, Ascension Texas Foundations,

George Gomez, Chief Operating Officer at Ascension Texas Foundations, joined us onstage to share a few words about HAAM’s partnership with Ascension Seton, and a recent healthcare story he experienced as a performing musician himself! HAAM member Vanessa Lively also joined  us onstage to share how Ascension Seton has made an impact in her life as a musician, founder of a nonprofit, and as a mother of two.

We are especially grateful to Ascension Seton for their sustained support during an uncertain time for healthcare funding. We were honored to celebrate our partnership together with our Pearl Society members.

Austin Music Scene Book Bundle

Our friends at Thunderhouse Media (the team behind the award-winning book Austin's Music Scene: Your Guide to the City's Most Iconic Artists & Venues) just posted two extended interviews — with Latin Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gina Chavez and Southern Gothic shoegazers Farmer's Wife. A little fun pre-reading before next week's show.
