Kids Battle of the Bands (KBOB)
Kids Battle of the Bands (KBOB) is a friendly fundraising competition that gives one band of student musicians an unforgettable opportunity: headlining the iconic ACL Live at the Moody Theater!
How It Works
The Competition:
Monday, March 4th – Sunday, May 3rd, registered participants will fundraise for HAAM using our easy-to-use peer-to-peer (P2P) platform.
The fundraising team that raises the most wins!
The Prizes:
The top fundraising team will be invited to send a band of students to perform a 15-minute set as the headlining act at HAAM’s Corporate Battle of the Bands on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
The performing band will receive a mentoring session with a local professional musician.
The top 3 fundraising teams will receive VIP tickets to CBOB 2026 for each member and up to 2 guests. VIP tickets include food, drinks, backstage tours, and early access to event activations.
The top 3 fundraising teams will get an invite to perform for HAAM Day Music Festival 2026 (9/22/26)!
The Timeline:
February 23rd: Registration opens!
March 4th - 5th: Early fundraising through Amplify Austin. Any funds raised will be rolled into HAAM’s P2P platform.
March 6th - May 3rd: HAAM’s P2P platform opens and fundraising begins.
May 4th: Winners Announced for top 3 fundraising teams.
June 10th: Winner performance at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
September 22nd: Top 3 fundraising teams perform at HAAM Day Music Festival (not required).
The Benefits:
All participants will receive complimentary GA tickets to Corporate Battle of the Bands.
Students gain experience in fundraising and community impact for Austin area music teachers, musicians, and DJs.
Every $100 raised provides $700 of affordable health, wellness, and prevention services for Austin-area musicians, DJs, and music teachers to strengthen their quality of life in support of our vibrant music culture!
Why This Matters
Since the organization was founded in 2005, HAAM has helped music teachers, musicians, and DJs across Travis and surrounding counties access over $215 million in healthcare services. Through this competition, your students will learn that music isn't just about performance—it's about community, giving back, and supporting the artists who inspire us all!
Eligibility
Fundraising Team Requirements:
Fundraising team must have 1 adult “Manager” (25 years or older) who will handle registration, all correspondence between HAAM, fundraising team, parents/guardians, and donors to the team's fundraising page.
Fundraising team can be affiliated with a school program, afterschool music program, or an independent band of students, all are welcome to apply!
Fundraising team can be any size but only the top fundraising team gets to send a band of students to perform at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
Performing Band Requirements:
Band must have 1 adult “Manager” (25 years or older) who will handle all correspondence between HAAM, band members, parents/guardians, and be the point-of-contact responsible for the band day of the event (6/10/26).
May be the same or different person as the Fundraising Team Manager.
Band must be made up of student performers grades K-12 to be eligible.
Band must have a minimum of 3 performers.
Band can be affiliated with a school program, afterschool music program, or an independent band of students, all are welcome to apply!
Band must be able to perform a 15-minute set, all music styles and covers are welcome!
Band must be available for a soundcheck at 3:30pm on June 10 (3:00pm load in, full backline package provided by HAAM).
Parent/guardian of band members must sign a photo/video release form.
Fundraising Support: HAAM provides the platform, templates, graphics, and toolkit to make fundraising fun and easy!
